About the Project
The Western Area Water Supply Project (WAWSP) is a domestic water project that utilizes Missouri River water that is treated at the Williston Regional Water Treatment Plant and supplemented by groundwater through the R&T Water Supply Commerce Authority's Water Treatment Plant in Ray to meet the municipal, rural and industrial water needs for all or parts of five northwestern North Dakota counties. The service area includes the Cities of Williston, Watford City, Ray, Tioga, Stanley, Wildrose, Crosby, Fortuna, Noonan, Columbus and Ross.
